The first stage incorporates the Auto Closure Device (ACD), which keeps the inlet closed when disconnected from the cylinder valve, protecting internal components from contamination and corrosive water. This design preserves internal lubrication, keeps the inlet filter clean and dry, and improves safety when using elevated oxygen percentages. Cold-water performance is enhanced by three anti-freeze innovations: an integrated dry chamber isolates internal parts from moisture, deep heat-exchange ribs increase surface area to delay ice formation (+30% vs Glacia / +70% vs Legend 2), and the overmolded cap further prevents ice formation on the external diaphragm.
