The Garmin GPSMAP 1222xsv Chartplotter With Sonar delivers advanced marine navigation and sonar capability in a sharp 12″ colour display designed for wide viewing angles and excellent clarity. This model supports SideVü, ClearVü and traditional CHIRP sonar, but it is very important to note that it does not include a transducer. With compatibility for Garmin’s premium maps and charts, it provides access to high-detail navigation tools, integrated coastal and inland content, and optional upgrades such as Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ for enhanced detail and Auto Guidance+ technology.

Built for performance, the Garmin GPSMAP 1222xsv Chartplotter features a fast and responsive 10 Hz GPS and GLONASS receiver that updates position and heading ten times per second, resulting in smooth on-screen movement and highly accurate tracking. The chartplotter also supports waypoint, track and route transfers through standard GPX formatting, allowing users to easily move data between devices. With full Garmin Marine Network capability, you can share sonar, radar, charts and user data across multiple compatible units on your vessel.

The unit offers built-in single-channel CHIRP sonar along with CHIRP ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonar support. It is also compatible with Panoptix and LiveScope live sonar technology when paired with the appropriate transducers, which are sold separately. Integrated ANT wireless connectivity allows seamless pairing with compatible Garmin devices such as quatix marine watches, gWind Wireless 2 transducers, GNX Wind instruments and wireless remotes. Built-in Wi-Fi links the device to the ActiveCaptain app, providing access to smart notifications, charts, software updates and the ability to manage your marine experience from a connected smartphone.

Sailors benefit from Garmin SailAssist features, including laylines, wind data, set and drift, true and apparent wind readings (with compatible sensors), and sailing polars that help optimise sail trim for better performance. The unit is network capable with NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 for integration with autopilots, instruments, AIS, VHF and engine data. Compatible engine systems can display RPM, fuel flow, temperature, trim and more directly on the chartplotter.

Additional integration includes support for Power-Pole shallow water anchors and the CHARGE Marine Power Manager, enabling advanced anchoring features, power monitoring, power allocation and emergency start functions. The Garmin GPSMAP 1222xsv Chartplotter also pairs with inReach satellite communicators, allowing custom messaging directly from the chartplotter using the on-screen keyboard.
