The Garmin GPSMAP 1222 Chartplotter delivers a vivid 12″ colour display designed for wide viewing angles, offering clear visibility and an intuitive interface for marine navigation. Compatible with Garmin’s premium maps and charts, it provides access to high-quality navigation tools that enhance every journey on the water. With Garmin Marine Network support, this chartplotter allows seamless sharing of information between multiple units, ensuring your vessel’s systems remain fully connected.

A fast and responsive 10 Hz GPS and GLONASS receiver updates your position and heading ten times per second, enabling smooth onscreen tracking and fluid movement. Waypoints, tracks and routes can be easily transferred from other GPS devices using standard GPX formatting, simplifying data management when upgrading or expanding your setup. Select models include built-in sonar capabilities, with support for single-channel CHIRP, CHIRP ClearVü and CHIRP SideVü scanning sonars, as well as compatibility with Panoptix and LiveScope live sonar technologies when paired with the necessary transducers, which are sold separately.

Built-in ANT wireless connectivity allows direct pairing with compatible Garmin devices such as quatix marine watches, gWind Wireless 2 transducers, GNX Wind instruments and wireless remotes. The chartplotter also includes Wi-Fi for connection to the ActiveCaptain app, giving you access to software updates, smart notifications, chart features and the ability to manage your marine experience from a compatible smartphone.

For sailors, Garmin SailAssist offers valuable tools such as polar tables, laylines, wind data and set and drift calculations to help maximise sailing performance and efficiency. Optional Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ cartography provides additional detail, integrated coastal and inland content, daily chart updates and Auto Guidance+ technology.

The Garmin GPSMAP 1222 Chartplotter supports full Garmin Marine Network and NMEA 2000 connectivity, as well as NMEA 0183 compatibility. This enables integration with autopilots, AIS, VHF, digital switching and more. Engine connectivity provides access to RPM, fuel flow, temperature, trim and additional engine data when the appropriate hardware is available. The chartplotter can also pair with inReach satellite communicators for sending messages directly from the MFD using the on-screen keyboard.

Additional integrations include compatibility with Power-Pole shallow water anchors and the CHARGE Marine Power Manager, offering advanced anchoring features, battery monitoring, power allocation and emergency start functions. These capabilities allow for more control, efficiency and convenience while on the water.
