Apeks XTX40 Octopus

The Apeks XTX40 Octopus is a high-performance secondary regulator designed to provide divers with superior breathing comfort, safety, and reliability, even in challenging conditions. Built on the proven XTX platform, this octopus features a pneumatically balanced second stage, ensuring smooth, effortless breathing across all depths. Ideal for cold-water environments, the XTX40 Octopus is suitable for use in temperatures below 10°C (50°F), making it a dependable choice for both recreational and technical diving.

One of the standout features of the Apeks XTX40 Octopus is its innovative 2-stage progressive purge system. Divers can press the purge button on the side for a controlled, lower flow rate—perfect for delicate tasks such as filling lift bags. Pressing the centre delivers the full purge effect, ideal for clearing the regulator or emergency situations. The large venturi lever, fitted with a soft-touch rubber grip, ensures easy location and operation while reducing grit ingress and friction for smooth functionality.

The octopus is compatible with EAN40 gas mixtures out of the box and includes a Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece, designed to virtually eliminate jaw fatigue during extended dives. Braided flexi-hoses are standard on all models, providing enhanced flexibility, reduced weight, and improved durability compared to traditional hoses. A silicone exhaust valve further enhances breathing performance, ensuring effortless exhalation and superior regulator efficiency.

The Apeks XTX40 Octopus is also engineered with active antimicrobial protection. All molded parts incorporate an additive that protects against MRSA, E-Coli, bacteria, fungi, viruses, mould, yeast, and algae, offering an added layer of hygiene and safety. Additionally, the octopus can be converted from a right-handed to a left-handed hose configuration, though this procedure must be performed exclusively by an Apeks Authorised Service Technician.
