Apeks XL4+ Octopus

The Apeks XL4+ Octopus is a compact and lightweight secondary regulator designed to deliver reliable, high-performance breathing across a wide range of diving environments, including cold water locations. Engineered with a strong focus on weight reduction and ergonomic comfort, the XL4+ helps minimise jaw fatigue during long dives, making it an excellent choice for both recreational and technical divers. Its low-profile design and reduced mass also make it particularly well suited as a stage regulator, where efficiency, reliability, and streamlined equipment configuration are essential.

At the core of the XL4+ Octopus is a high-performance pneumatically balanced, lever-operated poppet valve. This design ensures smooth, consistent airflow while reducing overall breathing effort, even as depth and conditions change. The compact second stage improves comfort during extended use, while maintaining the dependable performance divers expect from Apeks regulators. A large, over-moulded purge button provides excellent control and self-flushing capability, allowing the regulator to be cleared quickly and easily when needed.

The XL4+ Octopus features an ergonomic Venturi lever that is simple to locate and operate, even when wearing gloves. This control allows divers to manage airflow efficiently and reduce the risk of unwanted freeflow. A flexible nylon braided hose is fitted as standard, offering improved cold-water performance compared to traditional rubber hoses, while also being lighter and more flexible. The standard metallic hose connection ensures interchangeability and compatibility with a wide range of equipment setups.

Comfort is further enhanced by the Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece, which incorporates a unique bridge that rests across the upper palate. This design eliminates the need for constant bite pressure, significantly reducing jaw fatigue on longer dives. A reusable mouthpiece clip allows for easy mouthpiece changes in the field, while the durable and flexible rubber exhaust tee provides effective bubble diversion for a more comfortable dive experience.
