Despite its environmentally focused design, the XL4 Ocea Octopus delivers the same high-performance breathing characteristics expected from Apeks regulators. Its compact and lightweight second stage is designed to improve overall comfort and significantly reduce jaw fatigue on long-duration dives. This makes it an excellent choice for both recreational divers and technical divers who require dependable backup air sources during extended or demanding dives.

At the heart of the Apeks XL4 Ocea Octopus is a high-performance pneumatically balanced, lever-operated poppet valve. This system provides smooth, consistent airflow while minimising breathing effort, even as depth or conditions change. A large, over-moulded purge button offers excellent control and self-flushing capability, allowing for quick and easy clearing of the regulator. The ergonomic Venturi lever is simple to locate and operate, even while wearing gloves, helping divers manage airflow efficiently and reduce the risk of unwanted freeflow.

The Apeks XL4 Ocea Octopus is fitted with a flexible nylon braided hose, offering improved cold-water performance compared to traditional rubber hoses, while also being lighter and more flexible. A standard metallic hose connection ensures interchangeability with other equipment setups. Comfort is further enhanced by the Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece, which features a unique bridge that rests across the upper palate, eliminating the need for bite pressure to keep the regulator in place. A reusable mouthpiece clip allows for easy replacement in the field, and a durable, flexible rubber exhaust tee provides excellent bubble diversion for improved comfort underwater.
